Etna Trail ASD is an amateur sports association founded in 2012 by the will and passion of a group of runners who, drawing on their experience as amateur athletes, realized that Etna and its surrounding area had unique characteristics capable of offering scenarios and experiences that are difficult to replicate elsewhere for those who love nature and sports immersed in it.

The association, in addition to promoting sports and organizing Nature Sport Events, aims to promote:

– respect for the environment and the protection of the landscape and territorial heritage;
– the implementation of a culture of sustainable tourism, oriented towards understanding the various territorial characteristics, through the
social, economic, and naturalistic components;
– the local agri-food and artisanal supply chain;
– start-ups whose business is based on the protection of the naturalistic heritage and the recovery of local cultural assets;
– cultural exchange between the local organizations involved in the organization and the participants;
– concrete solidarity initiatives.

Etna Trail ASD aims to be a social innovation in the world of sports associations, identifying the revaluation of natural places and environments and the organization of promotional and competitive sporting events as one of the best ways to promote awareness, respect, and enhance their cultural, social, and human resources.
