Brooks SuperMaratona dell'Etna 2026

The 18th edition of the Etna SuperMarathon.

From an idea by US Tosi of Tarvisio, back in 2004, the Guinness World Record-breaking feat of climbing the highest active volcano in Europe while running, starting from an altitude of 0 m above sea level, was born. up to an altitude of 3,000 m, covering the classic Marathon distance.
The feat, originally achieved by two of the three participants, has now become the greatest uphill race in the world, the only one capable of covering a marathon with an altitude difference of 3,000 m D+

The event is scheduled for June 13, 2026: after starting from the beach of Marina di Cottone, it will continue through the municipalities of Fiumefreddo di Sicilia, Piedimonte Etneo and Linguaglossa, crossing all the historic centers of the three piedmont villages, and will have its participants climb the Mareneve Regional Road that from Linguaglossa leads to Piano Provenzana, where they will leave the road surface to continue through the dirt trail that leads to an altitude of 3,000 meters, where the finish line is expected after a 43 km run.

The Off-Road is the fun, all-dirt race of the Etna SuperMarathon: from an altitude of 1,800 meters, the route climbs towards the Volcanological Observatory, then descends towards the finish line through the volcanic sand gully, for a total of 14.5 km.
